Christmas in August

Hello! Some of our friends and favorite artists released singles today and we wanted to give them the recognition they deserve, enjoy!

“Apartment Dream”- SHane T

We had the opportunity to sit down with Shane T and discuss his new single before he released it for the world to hear. To Shane, “Apartment Dream” is an interpretation of a dystopian style dream that he had. In his recollections, Shane explained that, “It was a feeling of being handcuffed by stresses about money to pursue dreams, like music.” This song embodies the worries and feelings about growing up, moving out, and going out into the real world.

This new single by Shane introduces the rest of his EP (out on August 16th). The theme of “Apartment Dream” is the sense that time is being wasted. He explained that “There is some humor in this single, but it has some of the most hard-hitting lines that I’ve ever written.” Shane described it as a good encompassing song for the rest of the album.

“Mudpies”- Fleur Geurl

Making a big comeback under her new name, Danielle from Fleur Geurl (previously known as Tom Angst), released a new single, “Mudpies.” This song uses various instruments, violin and trumpet played by Danielle’s friends, Wesley, and Dan. To us, this song emanates the feelings of summer and nostalgia. The variety of instruments, mixed with Danielle’s voice makes this song sound hauntingly beautiful.

Because of this new release, we are anticipating what Fleur Geurl has in store for her listeners next!

“Wysteria” – Nordista Freeze

Since his release of Cosmic Haus in 2017, fans of Nordista Freeze have been patiently waiting for his official release of “Wysteria.” If you have gotten the opportunity to see Freeze on tour recently, you would have heard “Wysteria” live, but everyone was excited for the chance to listen to it while dancing around their rooms.

This dreamy ballad makes you envision yourself swaying from side to side underneath the stars. Unlike the energy in some of Freeze’s other songs, “Wysteria” is a slow serenade that radiates the feelings of love.

“Sometimes Love Takes so long”- Illiterate Light

Illiterate Light has been on a roll with their song releases, and this single is no different. Since their release of “Carolina Lorelei” in May, listeners have been anticipating new music from the duo. Illiterate Light has been catching eyes and turning heads with their music and “Sometimes Love Takes So Long” has done just that.

This catchy tune portrays the feelings of a lost love. This heartfelt song is relatable and sincere and it makes us excited to see what these guys are going to do next! Keep an eye out for their debut album to be released on October 11th!
